So I’ve been in the new schedule for a couple of days now and I’ve got a better idea of what’s working and what’s not. First, the good parts.
Waking up at 6:30 is already getting easier. I don’t have to decide every night when I want to get up based on random criteria and it get’s me thinking about getting enough sleep, even when it doesn’t work out. My goal has been going to sleep between 9-11, but I’m always on that 11 side so far — It seems to come so quickly.
The 100 pushups program is going well but 100 still seems a long way off. Four to five more weeks I guess.
I’m getting more done and fitting important things in well. This was one of the main reasons for the new rhythm in the first place so I’m glad it is paying off in this sense. I haven’t had one perfectly on track day yet, but that is alright. As I get used to the rhythm and make some adjustments I think I’ll be spending my days doing the things I need to be doing more and more.
So now for the needed adjustments.
I like catching up on news/reading in the mornings and I’ve invariably found myself doing it then even though that’s not part of the set out rhythm. It has pushed some things out that I don’t want to lose so I need to find a way to reorient this time.
I haven’t been riding the bike yet. Mostly this has been a result of the aforementioned problem. Still figuring this out.
Lastly, in the schedule part of my rhythm I’ve got things stacked up one after the other. I’m finding that I need a break in between as I switch focuses.
So now I get to integrate all of that this week and try to prepare for some traveling coming up. I’ve got to keep a similar rhythm going while I’m away too.
