Snow Lake in the Gila

Quite a trip into the Gila this weekend.  Camping with the family, best trout fishing I’ve been a part of for years, and a trip home this morning that will continue into tomorrow morning.  Short story – we popped two tires at once which turned a short, easy trip home into a marathon of storms, air compressors, and frustration.

This week I’m going to LA for a day to help my brother-in-law move their stuff and then on to Texas.  So there won’t be much blogging action.

Here’s what I’ve found worthy of linkage this week:

  • Aside from having a great last name, Terry Savage points out something you and I may not have caugt…We’ll Pay if We Decide to Give Up U.S. Citizenship
  • Never heard of this before – A Lending Club
  • The new evolution of babies. (NYT 2004)
  • A long, but great article from SI about Tim Lincecum.  If you like baseball it’s definitely worth a read.
  • Eugene Cho continues the good work on their organization fighting global poverty.  These continue to challenge me in an area that I think God has been challenging me for some time.
  • A friend I met in South Africa, Joe Reed, just moved there with his family and is learning more about the post-Apartheid realities in that country.  He recently posted this illustration that I think is a great intro into the learning curve of living in a society in need of reconciliation.
  • If you continue to find new social media sites that you can’t keep track of, I’ve found one that might help you with that.  Ping.fm – Where you can update all your social networks at once.  It’s awesome!
  • As I was catching up on some reading tonight I noticed quite a bit of news waves being generated by this NYT article on an ancient tablet with Hebrew writings on it.  I liked what Bill Kinnon’s post here on the subject.  There’s always a debate out there.

That’s all I got, I’m out.
