There’s too much to do. I’ve got several upcoming posts in the works but I just haven’t had the time to fully lay them out. This week was catching up from traveling so much last month, but I haven’t gotten far enough ahead on what I need to for next week. So I should be doing a lot of that work this weekend. I can’t believe its May.
Anyway, here’s some of what I’ve found interesting this week:
- Tomorrow is Pangea Day! I didn’t know what that was until this week, but it sounds cool. Bringing the world together through film. There are events in major cities all around the world as well as live internet broadcasts. I’ll probably tune in to see what its like.
- Europe is an interesting place these days (I can’t wait to move), between new protests in Paris, the Population Crisis, the Economic “Downturn”, a new-wave? leader and old-wave shows of force in Russia. Then there’s the good news, right?
- Thomas Friedman asks, “Who Will Tell the People?” in the NYT. A pertinent question I think.
- Michael Spencer from imonk is writing an interesting series on the Jesus Shaped Question. This post on Are Christians like Jesus? is well worth the read.
- Seattle area pastor Eugene Cho of Quest is blogging about a new kind of international, non-profit foundation to fight poverty he and his wife are starting. Also well worth the read if you have time, here are the links:
- Fighting Poverty: Loudly | Wisely | Prayerfully
- I have to admit, I love the Nike Witness campaign. Check it out.
- Released this week - An Evangelical Manifesto. What are the pros and cons around this? Will it matter?
- Bee stings and Poverty
- The “Gap” year is looked on favorably by major universities, when will this idea gain traction in the US? I think it’s hugely valuable and I know quite a number of college students who would benefit from something like this.
- Robotic War Bugs, wow.
- For most of those in my generation, I think this probably rings true. How/should pastoral care (not my preferred term) change for us?
- And lastly, this from a Christianity Today interview with Alan Hirsch: Small Groups and the Mission of God
Praying for Burma, Zimbabwe, and Lebanon especially.
