In the last couple of years I’ve wrestled with the idea of posting a blog. I’ve gone through two attempts, but never quite made enough time or found my distinct style. I didn’t update them enough and worried too much whether anything I had to say was useful or profound. So as I mulled over the question recently, I decided to write down a few reasons why I would and then decided if I should. Since you’re reading this my decision is obvious, but I thought sharing the reasons would be a good start and hopefully set a clear trajectory for the future.
Here’s why I’m blogging:
- As a way to connect with friends, family, and those who don’t fit into the first two categories yet.
- To provide friends and supporters a window into my life.
- To create a forum to interact and collaborate with others on the ideas I’m curious or passionate about.
- As a way to encourage shared learnings and insights.
- Because I can’t seem to grasp journaling yet, and this is close…
- To point to resources, ideas, connections, reference points, or good stories.
- To practice writing.
- To share about what I’m reading and to encourage the reading of good books.
- Because I’d rather ask questions instead of just answering them correctly.
- To further inspire, empower, and challenge those whose journey’s God has chosen to intersect with mine.
So, here goes again.

Just discovered your blog now! I think its great, and your reasons for having a blog are great and I have bookmarked this blog under ‘Top Blogs’ which means I should visit it at least twice-weekly!
